Backbone just announced that the Death Stranding limited edition Backbone controller will go up on January 30th at 9 AM PST / Noon EDT. It will be available in limited quantities at the official Backbone site for the US and also on Kojima Productions’ site for the US and Japan. This includes a code for Death Stranding Director’s Cut as well. While the limited edition Death Stranding Director’s Cut Backbone also supports Android, the code, delivered through the Backbone app, will only work for the iOS/macOS version on the App Store even for Android owners which is a bit confusing. Either way, the Death Stranding Director’s Cut Backbone controller looks gorgeous. Hopefully they made enough for launch and don’t sell out too quickly. Check it out below:One thing to note is that this edition of the controller is a Backbone One USB-C 2nd Gen controller, which means it includes the magnetic adapters allowing for better fit for the phones with a case (many cases are supported). This version also has the improved reshaped D-pad. If you missed the recent release date announcement, Death Stranding Director’s Cut from Kojima Productions launches on iPhone 15 Pro, iPad (M1 and later), and macOS (M1 and later) on January 30th for $39.99 with a pre-order discount bringing it down to $19.99. I’ll be sure to post about the Death Stranding Director’s Cut Backbone controller going up once we have details for the price and more. If you’d like to get Death Stranding Director’s Cut on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, you can pre-order it on the App Store here for $19.99. I’ve played it already, but will definitely be checking it out on iPhone 15 Pro and MacBook Air (M1) while comparing it to the game on Steam Deck where it is Steam Deck Verified. Have you played Death Stranding Director’s Cut before and will you be checking it out on mobile next week?
