Developer Featherweight Games, who have previously brought us the likes of Rodeo Stampede, Botworld Adventure, and Skiing Yeti Mountain, are readying their latest game for release. It’s called Auto Pirates: Captains Cup and it’s a player versus the entire world seafaring tactical auto-battler that is launching globally next month. You’ll put together your crew, equip your ship as needed, and then head into battle where you’ll compete for global ranking positions and earn yourself loot based on where you land on the leaderboard. I personally never really got into the whole auto-battling sensation that crept up a number of years back, but I can’t deny that this type of game is absolutely perfect for mobile. I’m also digging the theme, I mean who doesn’t like pirates? But Auto Pirates takes things a step further by having four distinct fantasy factions to source your pirates from, meaning that magic and other fantastical elements can also come into play alongside your typical pirate shenanigans. The global release date for Auto Pirates: Captains Cup is set for August 22nd, though you can grab it right now in Early Access over on Google Play for Android or check out the iOS soft launch version if you’re in Australia, New Zealand or the Philippines.
