We can all wholeheartedly understand that getting a divorce is a difficult experience. No one wishes for themselves that their loving relationship would fall apart until the only choice is to completely break apart from each other, especially not when there are kids in the picture.

But that is no excuse to drop your marital problems on your kids. Even more so, it is crucial that kids know their parents' divorce is by no circumstances their fault, and parents who fail to show that to their kids have bigger problems to worry about other than the upcoming divorce.

What the parents in this Reddit story did to their 15-year-old kid, is honestly unforgivable. OP (original poster), is an adopted kid whose parents are in the process of getting a divorce. While hearing the conversation about who is going to get the custody of his sister, OP decided to inquire about his own custody. His parents though, refused to tell him anything about it… Until OP's mom's outburst claimed that "Neither of us wants you".
